Fuller Trustee Nicole Martin Appointed President and CEO of Christianity Today

Fuller Seminary extends its congratulations to Fuller trustee Rev. Dr. Nicole Martin on her appointment as president and CEO of Christianity Today. Dr. Martin has been a member of the seminary’s Board of Trustees since 2023 and has most recently served as Christianity Today’s chief operating officer.

Fuller President David Emmanuel Goatley said, “Dr. Martin is a generative and imaginative Christian leader. Her thoughtful, prayerful, and discerning spirit as a Fuller Seminary trustee is a blessing to this institution. Those characteristics, and more, will enrich and enlarge the work and witness of Christianity Today in ways that none of us can fully imagine. We add our congratulations to the many voices across the country and around the world.”

Martin is a leader, author, speaker, and educator. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, she received her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and her Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She is the founder and executive director of Soulfire International Ministries and has served in various other leadership roles in both the church and non-profit organizations, including the American Bible Society. She currently sits on the executive council of the National Association of Evangelicals and on the National Advisory Council for the Salvation Army; she is also a founding board member of the Center for Christianity and Public Life. Martin is the author of Made to Lead: Empowering Women for Ministry and Leaning In, Letting Go: A Lenten Devotional.

In her new roles as president and CEO of Christianity Today, vacated by Timothy Dalrymple earlier this year, Martin will take the helm of a global leader of Christian media, which reaches 35 million people annually across digital and print platforms, through news, commentary, and other resources.

Dr. Shirley Mullen, chair of Fuller’s Board of Trustees, said, “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to congratulate our colleague Nicole Martin on her recent appointment. We look forward to her leadership of Christianity Today, confident that she will bring to that organization the same animating vision, incisive thoughtfulness, and passionate commitment to the good news of the gospel for the 21st century world that she has brought to the Board of Fuller.”
