Fuller’s Brehm Center Celebrates 25 Years
Fuller Seminary is thrilled to be celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts, with its upcoming Homecoming Gala on October 25. The Brehm Center, launched in 2001 and named for trustees William and Delores Brehm, has as its mission the integration of worship, theology, and the arts for the renewal of church and culture through empowering artists.
The center’s 25-year legacy includes current academic programs like its Certificate in Theology and the Arts; the center’s unique Brehm Film and Brehm Preaching initiatives; signature cohort experiences available both online and in-person; and various resources like its Imagining Worship With Kids program focused on intergenerational worship.
The upcoming gala will be a time of celebration and reflection on the center’s past quarter of a century, as well as a time to look to what’s ahead. The event includes a full-course dinner, silent auction, music by the Christian band Homecoming, as well as a talk by filmmaker Nicholas Ma, known notably for the documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor? and more recently for Leap of Faith and Mabel.
Shannon Sigler, the center’s executive director, said, “The Brehm Center is excited to celebrate 25 years of serving students, artists, worship pastors, and Christian leaders. We are hosting an anniversary gala to look back and remember all those who have been involved with this ministry, and to look forward to the next 25 years. We truly believe that creativity and the arts have the capacity to revive the worship of the church.”
The gala will be the closing part of Brehm Homecoming Week, which will also involve the three-day Brehm Sessions, free live musical performances and interviews with musicians integrating their faith with their artistry, from October 22–24. The gala takes place on October 25, at 7 pm, at the University Club of Pasadena. Learn more at brehmcenter.org.
